Technical and IT jobs announced for County Kerry

02 June 2010
Technical and IT jobs announced for County KerryTechnical and IT jobs in County Kerry, Ireland, have been made available.

Minister for enterprise, trade and innovation Batt O'Keefe said 55 permanent and temporary positions across two companies in Tralee will help attract global firms to the south-west region and continue to boost the damaged economy.

Straker, a web localisation software provider, will establish its European headquarters at Kerry Technology Park, creating 25 roles, while German wind turbine manufacturer Enercon will also base itself at the site and establish a technical services operation with 30 employees.

"The town is well served by a wide skills base in Kerry Technology Park," Mr O'Keefe said.

It is hoped the Straker premises will serve client needs from worldwide areas such as the east coast of North America and the Middle East. Some of the positions up for grabs include secretarial and administration duties, as well as technical development and support.

Related news this week saw Mr O'Keeffe launch the global headquarters for space technology company AMPAC-ISP in Ballycoolin, Dublin.

He said this development emphasises the "pro-business environment" of the country.
