A series of new employment opportunities are being planned by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

The company, which has invested in its operations over the past year, reported its results to the year to June 2010 and stated that it expects to create 800 jobs this year, in addition to the appointment of 1,200 graduates.

Although there was a slight decline in annual profits compared with 2008-2009 - down from £688 million to £665 million - the firm saw revenue increase by four per cent during 2009-2010 to £2.33 billion.

The company admitted that the past 12 months have been "tough" for trading, but stated that it recruited 57 new partners and 1,750 members of staff over the year, something which may interest those seeking finance and accountancy jobs in the UK.

PwC chairman and senior partner Ian Powell commented: "Notwithstanding a tough year for our clients and our business, we've delivered a good, solid set of results given the economic and market backdrop."

The professional services firm is built on a culture of partnership and networking.
