IT jobs in the US increase during November

14 December 2010
IT jobs in the US increase during NovemberFurther IT jobs were added in the US during November 2010, new figures reveal.

Compiled by TechServe Alliance, the employment report for last month shows a "modest rise" in growth of 600 positions.

The study shows the pace of jobs growth dipped from 12,000 roles added during October 2010, with the number of people in work in the IT sector now standing at 3,906,200.

In its monthly index of positions, the organization noted employment expanded by 0.02 per cent in November, as the trend for rises continues, with the industry's total workforce now standing 2.5 per cent higher year-on-year.

Commenting on the past 12 months of unbroken recruitment expansion, TechServe Alliance chief executive Mark Roberts said: "While we will continue to see month-to-month variances given the dynamic nature of the economy and labor markets, our bullish forecasts for the coming year remain unchanged."

Meanwhile, a recent article in NJ Biz has suggested support and mentoring for women entering professions such as IT jobs in the US is important in ensuring their success.
