IT jobs in Canada could be 'roles of the future'
17 January 2012
Return to index
IT jobs
in Canada are among the roles of the future, according to an
industry
expert.
Geoff Bagg, chief executive of The Bagg Group from Toronto, told The Star that the issue is finding good people.
"It is one of the most difficult things to explain. You keep hearing everybody's out of work. And then you talk to companies and they say they can't find people. There's obviously a bit of a gap between what the market is demanding and what the labor pool is providing," he added.
Mr Bagg went on to say that having the right technology background, along with good communication and project management skills, will make a person stand out, and those who can demonstrate all three are likely to get "multiple offers".
One region of Canada which is faring well with employment is Ontario, as it has welcomed nearly 300,000 people into jobs since the recessionary low in May 2009, according to the Ministry of Finance.
