India leads global consumer confidence table

28 January 2011
India leads global consumer confidence tableIndia is leading the way when it comes to consumer confidence, according to a new report - something which could particularly interest those looking for jobs in India.

According to a study by Nielsen, consumer confidence has dropped in many countries - however this is not the case for India.

Indeed, the end of the fourth quarter saw the country achieve 131 points on the consumer index table.

Just 12 of the 52 countries surveyed reached a score of 100 or more.

The high level of confidence achieved by the country could serve to create more jobs in India.

Hopes of economic recovery in many countries were dashed by the Nielsen Global Consumer Confidence Index, however, as consumers in half of those surveyed raised concerns about unemployment and the rising cost of essentials.

According to a recent Times of India article, the country is seeing increasing numbers of its skilled workers return from stints abroad - something which is boosting the nation's economy.ADNFCR-1275-ID-800368705-ADNFCR
