This is according to a new article by Network World, which suggested that talented individuals are widely sought after in the sector, particularly those who are familiar with electronic health record systems.

Individuals specializing in the industry are advised the news source pointed to new government regulations as a driver of the market, with tight delivery deadlines for projects.

A study by PricewaterhouseCoopers indicated by 2019 the health market is expected to expand to almost 20 per cent of the total US economy, the article noted, while RNCOS predicts the nation will increase healthcare IT spending by 24 per cent during 2012-14.

In a recent interview with the Financial Times, Eric Spiegel, Siemens chief executive, warned that the US is currently experiencing a mismatch between the skills employers require and those held by jobseekers.
