Return to index
The cloud computing market in India is anticipated to create 100,000 new employment opportunities, up from a current level of around 10,000, a new report claims.
According to a study on the issue, such technology being used by enterprises could reduce their costs by around 50 per cent and it will become increasingly popular over the next five years as a result.
Compiled by EMC Corporation and Zinnov Management Consulting and entitled Private Cloud Landscape in India, the research indicates the total market for cloud solutions will reach $4.5 billion by 2015, rising from a current level of $400 million at a rate of more than 60 per cent a year.
"Cloud computing will reshape the Indian
IT
market by generating new opportunities for vendors and driving changes in traditional
IT
offerings," Zinnov chief executive Pari Natarajan stated.
Those seeking
IT jobs
in India may be interested in the recommendation in the study that companies should invest in cloud computing skills development.
According to a study by MyHiringClub.com reported by the Press Trust of India recently, the Indian jobs market is operating "robustly" and is creating new employment opportunities.
