The number of finance jobs in India is predicted to rise as banks in the country expand and strengthen risk management operations.
According to the Hindustan Times, all kinds of institutions in the nation are look at ways of tackling problems following a series of scams in the sector.
The news source forecasts that most government-owned, private and foreign banks are gearing up to recruit more risk management specialists, generating more employment opportunities.
"Most banks are planning to go in for expansions in their risk operations especially after the global financial crisis and in the wake of intensified competition expected in the future," one unnamed specialist is quoted as saying.
In recent comments to a seminar, Union Bank of India chairman and head of the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) M V Nair suggested more than 400,000 jobs will be created in the sector over the next couple of years, the Times of India reported.
