Bank experts forecast sharp rise in US roles
16 June 2011

More finance jobs in the US could become available following a poll of experts that suggested economic growth will boost vacancies across all industries.
The Economic Advisory Committee of the American Bankers Association, which contains a dozen high-ranking specialists from across the country's financial institutions, predicted around two million jobs will be created in 2011.
According to the panel, a further 2.5 million jobs will become available next year, while inflation-adjusted gross domestic product will rise to almost three per cent this year.
Committee chairman and chief economist of Deutsche Bank in New York Peter Hooper said: "Business growth has built up some staying power, despite continued head winds."
"Economic recovery at an above-trend pace will support continuing recovery of jobs," he explained, but added that the nation still has some way to go before it is fully recuperated from the recession.
His comments followed recent data from the country's Bureau of Labor Statistics, which revealed there were three million job openings available in the US during April this year.
