Accountancy jobs 'some of the best in the US'

20 October 2010
Accountancy jobs 'some of the best in the US'Roles in the accountancy and finance profession are some of the most popular in America, a new study indicates.

The CNN/Money poll of the best jobs in the country discovered that accounting posts were particularly sought after, Going Concern reports.

They rank in "best jobs in America", placing certified public accountant (CPA) at number nine, tax manager at 62, accounting director at 69 and auditing manager at 78.

"Especially in this time of economic turmoil, CPAs are needed to make sense of increasingly complex financial transactions - from buyouts to businesses grappling with changing tax laws," the analysis states.

Meanwhile, job security and the potential for future growth were perceived as particular high among tax managers.

However, the news source notes that some accountancy positions have fallen out of the Top 100 during the past 12 months, including finance director, senior tax accountant and financial analysis manager.

In related news, a recent study by website Vault listed the top accounting companies to work for in terms of various factors, with Marcum in New York coming top in terms of compensation, business outlook and hours, while Kaufman Rossin, & Co was at number one for treatment by managers and culture.
