Accenture 'to create thousands of global IT jobs'
26 June 2010
Return to index
Accenture is reportedly planning to recruit a total of 50,000 people in 2010 in order to expand its operations.
The global specialist in management consulting, technology and outsourcing services has announced it will also be making use of social media sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter to recruit candidates, Computer Weekly reports.
Suzy Style, Accenture's head of recruitment, explained to the news source that competition for skilled workers is increasing and businesses are forced to turn to alternative strategies to attract professionals.
"Currently there is a war for talent and we believe an organization's ability to develop long-term relationships with candidates will become part of their competitiveness," she explained, adding that social media assists in building networks.
The company still plans to use traditional channels to hire workers such as software, finance and telecoms experts.
Reporting its third quarter revenues for the 2010 fiscal year, Accenture announced an eight per cent rise in revenues in US dollar terms and four per cent in local currency, totalling $5.57 billion for the three months.
