Our History

Firth Ross Martin Associates was established in 1983 with the goal to become one of the most reputable global infrastructure executive search firms.

Since our start, we have successfully grown a team of functional experts with extensive market knowledge, experience of building senior leadership teams, and advising on best practice talent management for blue chip clients across the globe.

The firm initially had dedicated practice areas in technology, operations and corporate real estate. We have now subsequently grown the business offering to include legal and compliance, risk, interim management, and business consultancy.

Originally we were the executive search arm of The Blomfield Group, the largest privately run UK recruitment company at the time, with sister companies, Joslin Rowe and Origin HR.

In April 2006, the board of the Blomfield Group sold a controlling interest to Vedior, who at the time were the fourth largest staffing company in the world. In May 2008, our current parent company, the Randstad Group acquired Vedior.

Randstad is the second largest recruitment agency in the world, with over 4,100 offices in 44 countries, employing over 500,000 staff a day. Being part of the Randstad Group gives us access to an unrivalled global network of potential candidates.

Our Approach

Establishing long-term partnership style relationships with our clients allows us to play a vital role in their executive search process.

We aim to fully understand all of our client’s recruitment needs, whilst promoting them as an employer of choice. We fully understand the legal and moral responsibilities of representing an organisation in the employment market, and will ensure that our search and selection mandates comply with your objectives.

In order to achieve successful partnerships with our clients we recognise the need to consistently complete assignments and ensure that retention rates from anyone we place remain high. We provide regular assignment progress reports and assignment completion reports can be provided to help measure our delivery success.

All of our projects and clients have a dedicated senior account manager who is responsible for the overall direction and supervision of the account, sourcing roles, and acting as the single point of contact for a client for each search assignment supported by our research function.

Track Record

Every search assignment we undertake is approached proactively, targeting and identifying key, qualified individuals across the globe.

We have successfully completed assignments in major cities throught the UK and mainland Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific, North and South America, and the Middle East.

Equality and Diversity

We are committed to diversity and equality, both in our own team and when shortlisting candidates for our clients. None of our candidates or employees will be discriminated against on the grounds of age, race, colour, disability, religion or belief, nationality, ethnic origin, sex or marital status.

As an organisation we also work to boost the horizons of young adults from the inner-city via mentoring and work experience schemes.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Giving back to the communities we work in is important to us.

Our team are regular participants in various initiatives to raise money for charities throughout the UK, including Cancer Research, Starlight Children's Foundation, Macmillan Cancer Support, and more.

Our most recent CSR venture (pictured to the left), was the London Tough Mudder, where we raised money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
